The Holiday Season is coming with might. No wait a minute - it is not just a season coming but a person right in the center of it all: Christ is coming! God becomes man, just a few weeks from now. That is why we put together an impressive calendar of holiday activities. You can see: Christ is really going strong in Utah Valley. The overall theme is “Christ coming”. That is why my strongest recommendation for you is joining our Advent Devotionals and or Bible Studies because they are a great opportunity to get ready for Christ coming. Whether you are completely new to the good old story or have heard it for decades: There will be something in it for you! On Christmas Eve we will once again celebrate the most important birthday in history. So let’s get prepared for his arrival through prayer and study. Christ is coming - are you too?
The Food & Care Coalition is in need of individual volunteers who are interested in picking up food donations from local restaurants or businesses and delivering them to their location in downtown Provo. They have several openings right now in need of volunteers. It would be a weekly commitment, to one location. Most times available are during weekday business hours. Anyone interested could call their Volunteer Director, Nancy Willes, at 373-1825, or email her at nancyw@foodandcare.org
Advent is a time of preparing to welcome again God’s gift of love shown in Jesus Christ. Our series of Advent Devotionals will be centered around the Advent wreath and a piece of scripture. Join us for prayer and study in our festive sanctuary on three December evenings: 4th, 11th and 18th at 7:30 p.m.

As part of the Downtown Provo gallery Stroll, we are proud to present our featured artist for the month of November:
Joe Norman is a local Salt Lake designer and teacher. He started making furniture while exploring the environments that support and promote communities, whether that community was as small as a single family or as large as a city. Many of his designs are direct results of talking with schools, families, and businesses about developing environments that encourage people to work and be together in positive and supportive ways.
Joe’s furniture is made with recycled and environmentally conscious processes and materials whenever possible; he considers the earth itself as an important member of our global community. In fact, many of the ideas in were born from wrecking yards, recycling centers, and retired bicycles. His machine shop is powered by renewable wind energy.

During their meeting last Friday our Campus Ministry figured out what their goal for this semester could be:
Becoming a “Christian Social Coffee Club” attracting enough people to eventually host a party.
This week they once again meet in the Commons of the UVU Campus. That is because the SLCC branch is
not yet ready to get started and we have some new UVU students interested in our group: Welcome! Continue reading “Christian Social Coffee Club”
